The 6.8L Carbon Cylinder is a Type 4 composite pressure cylinder designed for compressed breathing air applications. Its construction combines a non-structural PET inner liner with a complete outer layer of carbon fibre and epoxy resin, providing a lightweight and durable alternative for applications where ease of handling is important.

The cylinder is available in 300 bar and 310 bar working-pressure versions, depending on the specific configuration. It is manufactured and tested in accordance with EN 12245:2009+A1:2011 and ISO 11119-3:2013, with applicable cylinders carrying CE or UN marking.

For additional protection during handling, the 6.8L cylinder is supplied with rubber protective caps on the upper and lower ends. These caps are designed to cushion impacts and can be replaced, together with the protective sleeve, by authorised personnel when required.

The 6.8L model offers a range of valve connection options. According to the manufacturer’s manual, available threads for the 6.8L cylinder include:

  • M18 × 1.5
  • M25 × 2
  • 17E
  • 25E
  • 7/8″–14 UNF

The cylinder’s valve boss and sealing O-rings can be replaced by competent personnel, while the protective components can also be renewed through authorised servicing. This design allows key components to be maintained or replaced without losing the cylinder’s identifying data.

Important Usage Information

This cylinder is intended for breathing air and must be filled with breathable air complying with UNI EN 12021:2014. The manufacturer’s instructions specify that the cylinder must not be filled above 110% of its working pressure and must not be used above its specified working pressure.

As a high-pressure composite cylinder, it should be handled carefully and must not be dropped, dragged, rolled, thrown, or subjected to significant impacts. Protective end caps should be fitted during movement and storage.

Valve installation and removal must be performed by trained personnel or authorised centres using the manufacturer’s specified procedures.

Please select the correct pressure rating and valve/thread configuration for your application when ordering.
