The Dräger PAS Lite is a lightweight and robust self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) designed for industrial applications where dependable respiratory protection, comfort and ease of maintenance are essential. Combining proven Dräger pneumatic technology with a durable and ergonomic carrying system, the PAS Lite provides reliable breathing support in demanding working environments.
At the heart of the system is an ultra-lightweight, high-strength carbon-composite space-frame designed to withstand impact, heat and chemical exposure. The backplate and harness weigh just 2.7 kg, helping to reduce the overall burden on the user. The ergonomic harness is designed to distribute weight effectively across the shoulders while reducing strain, stress and fatigue during extended periods of use.
The PAS Lite also features an integrated hose design, with the air supply and pressure gauge hoses mounted within the space-frame. This helps reduce the risk of snagging and entanglement while allowing the hose position to be configured according to the user’s preference. The integrated design also makes hose replacement straightforward and cost-effective.
Maintenance is another key advantage of the PAS Lite. Major components can be quickly assembled and disassembled, while the harness uses a simple single-piece retention system. The pressure reducer is protected within the space-frame and can be removed easily using simple tools, helping to minimise service time and equipment downtime.
The PAS Lite uses the same proven pneumatic technology found across Dräger’s professional breathing apparatus range, providing reliable performance throughout the service life of the equipment. The system can be configured to meet different industrial requirements, including an integrated Lung Demand Valve (LDV), airline-ready configurations and optional additional medium-pressure connections for applications such as rescue, decontamination or airline supply.
The apparatus is designed for use with single steel or carbon-composite cylinders from 4 to 9 litres at 200 or 300 bar. It is also compatible with Dräger Panorama Nova and FPS 7000 full-face masks and can be equipped with a range of electronic voice communication systems.
With approvals including EN 137:2006 Type 2, SOLAS II-2 and MED, the Dräger PAS Lite is a versatile respiratory protection system for industrial and marine environments where a simple, durable and service-friendly SCBA is required.
