Oil & Gas Industry
Oil companies are regularly faced with high hazard and fire safety issues. Upstream and downstream oil and gas production companies, operating onshore and offshore, use firefighting foam to fight against burning tanks (with floating or fixed-roof), pipeline fires…
Petrochemical plants as oil refineries, petroleum processing facilities, bulk fuel storage tanks, tank farms, tank terminals, LNG facilities, offshore platforms and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) main fire risks are hydrocarbon fires (class B fire). Hydrocarbons fires included crude oil, fuel, gas, shale oil…
BIOex developed class B foam concentrates which extinguish fire quickly and provide a good burnback resistance.
- A high efficient eco-friendly AFFF’s alternative : 100% Fluorine-Free Foam (F3).
Nowadays, fuels increasingly contain additives and fire risks change accordingly. These additives can be water-miscible (polar solvents) and require adapted foam concentrate. Polyvalent foams are effective on class B hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires with direct or gentle application. Versatile or AR (Alcohol-Resistant) foam concentrates (AR-F3) are designed to put out polar solvent fires.
BIOEX Newtonian and pseudo-plastic base foam concentrates can fight class B fires using a direct jet at a safe distance in low expansion or medium expansion, and be sprayed by foam equipment in high expansion.
BIOEX foam concentrates are approved by international standards (LASTFIRE, EN1568, UL, GESIP, IMO…).
To help the drilling process of consolidated rocks in the mining activity, BIOEX foaming agent can be used.
