Honeywell BW Clip H₂S 2Y – Portable Hydrogen Sulphide (H₂S) Gas Detector
The Honeywell BW Clip H₂S 2Y is a compact and lightweight single-gas detector designed for continuous monitoring of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) in potentially hazardous environments. It is particularly suited to applications where reliable personal H₂S monitoring is required without the need for regular battery charging, sensor replacement or routine calibration.
The detector has an H₂S measuring range of 0–100 ppm and is supplied with standard alarm setpoints of 10 ppm for the low alarm and 15 ppm for the high alarm. These alarm levels can be adjusted when required using the appropriate Honeywell instrument management equipment.
The BW Clip H₂S 2Y is designed for up to two years of continuous operation. Its maintenance-free design means there is no need to replace the battery or sensor during its specified operating life, helping to reduce maintenance requirements, downtime and overall cost of ownership. Honeywell also offers a hibernation case for the two-year H₂S version, which can extend the usable service life when the detector is not required for continuous operation.
For ease of use, the BW Clip features simple one-button operation and requires minimal user training. The detector automatically performs an internal diagnostic test every 24 hours and provides audible, visual and vibrating alarms to alert the user when an unsafe gas concentration is detected. The audible alarm is rated at 95 dB.
The detector also automatically records the 35 most recent gas events, providing useful information for recordkeeping and safety management. It is compatible with the Honeywell IntelliDoX instrument management system and Honeywell Safety Suite, allowing organisations to perform and track bump tests, manage instruments and adjust alarm setpoints where applicable.
With an IP66/IP67 ingress protection rating, a compact size of approximately 4.1 × 5.0 × 8.7 cm and a weight of approximately 92 g, the BW Clip is designed to be easily worn by personnel while providing protection in demanding industrial and hazardous-area environments. For H₂S, the specified operating temperature range is approximately -40°C to +50°C.
